What Is A Trichologist
Trichology is the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases of the scalp and hair as well as hair loss.
A certified trichologist is a specialist who has received specialized training to treat hair and scalp conditions. Trichology is the bridge between Cosmetology and Dermatology.
Trichologists help people with hair and scalp issues, such as hair loss, breakage, oily scalp, and scalp disorders or diseases. They examine the hair and scalp to diagnose and recommend treatment.
Trichologists can scope the scalp, apply topicals to the scalp, use nutritional therapy, and low-level light therapy. However, they cannot prescribe drugs or perform medical or surgical procedures. Recommended treatments will be in a more holistic and natural method.
